It should slide back into the vertical governor arm hole without moving the vertical arm while pushing the link rod rearward.. Bend the link rod in the middle to shorten it to correct length.

What weight engine oil should I use in my 45? I know the manual says SAE 30, but I'm guessing that's only because they only has straight viscosities back then. I'm running 10W-30 right now, but I've had some people say I should still only use straight 30 weight. 10W-30 is a fine oil. Use it.

Aline the 2 marks then its timed, supposed to rotate the engine 2 rounds then recheck, that's where the fine tuning comes in, loosen the nuts a little and rotate the pump till the marks line up; all the ones ive messed with 180, 190, 190 xt, 6060, 6080, D21, 220,s all have at least 2 degrees off thru this process but it must have been in Allis specs

Ryan, I re did the front pedistal on dads WD 45 several years ago. One of the bearings has a curved race with barrel shaped bearings. I could still get the bearing from AC. Because of the cost, I chose to get it from O'Reillys, big mistake, I was promised the bearing overnight from O'Reillys. It took 3 weeks to get it.

According to the allis manual the wd @45 is red striped. If pulled to 3 1/16 inches long at full throttle it shouldnt give no more than 1722 rpms at high idle. As usual, you guys are the best at finding the information. I have a pull next weekend and I'm looking into the weights this week.
