Mechanical vibration — Evaluation of machine vibration …

This part of ISO 10816 provides specific guidance for assessing the severity of vibration measured at the bearings, bearing pedestals or bearing housings of machine sets in hydraulic power generating and pumping plants when measurements are made in situ. Two criteria are provided for assessing the machine vibration.

ISO 10816. This is in contrast to other standards dealing with vibration measurements (e.g. ISO 10816-1, ISO 10816-3 and ISO 13709[10]) which do make these distinctions. The statistical analysis showed a slight dependency of the vibration values with the power consumption of a pump. Consequently, this part of ISO 10816 distinguishes between ...

In such cases, the criteria of this part of ISO 10816 apply only to the steam turbine and the generator (including synchronizing clutches). ISO 7919-4 and ISO 10816-4 are applicable to the evaluation of the gas turbine vibration. The evaluation criteria in this part of ISO 10816 are not applicable to the electromagnetic excited vibration with

Vibration assessment according to ISO 10816-3

Vibration assessment based on ISO 10816-3 is explained in more detail in section Application concepts, see Vibration assessment. The classification based on the calculated RMS values is done directly in the MAIN program. Alternatively, the function blocks FB_CMA_WatchUpperThresholdsor FB_CMA_DiscreteClassificationcould be used.

Understanding the ISO 10816-3 Vibration Severity Chart

Accurex™ performs a first order diagnostic based on ISO 10816-3 specifications (based on overall vibration levels in velocity, in inches per second/peak, or mm/sec/rms), and a second order diagnostic based on several thousand rules-based algorithms. To help new users understand the ISO 10816-3 chart, let's break it down.

ISO 10816-7:2009

ISO 10816-7:2009 gives instructions for the evaluation of vibration on rotodynamic pumps for industrial applications with nominal power above 1 kW. It defines the special requirements for evaluation of vibration when the vibration measurements are made on non-rotating parts (bearing housing vibration).
