    KX250 tank on KX500..which one?

    An 89 KX250 tank is a direct drop on. It's not as tall so it makes sliding up easier. You loose some capacity though. The 500 tank is either 2.9 or 2.6 gallons, i forget, and the 89 KX250 tank is 2.3 gallons. Any 250 post 90 has the perimeter frame and could make mounting a pain. Plus Finding radiator shrouds to work would be hard as well.

    The KX500 UPPER bearing (All Balls Racing, Part #32205-5) dimensions are: 25mm I.D. 52mm O.D. 19mm Height The KX250F UPPER bearing (All Balls Racing, Part #99-3513-5) dimensions are: 28mm I.D. 52mm O.D. 16mm Height As you can see, both the KX250F, and the KX500 use the same O.D. on the upper bearing.     Where to make hole for compression release on KX500?

    4x4max. Posted January 19, 2008. Accu-Products sells a compression release kit and they're often offered on eBay. AJ Waggoner, the guy who builds the CR500AF, KX500AF, etc, made a couple prototype releases but, as far as I know, they're not available to the public. Accu-Products release pic and link below:

    Consolidated KX500 Suspension upgrades

    Here is a note regarding the 97-04 KX500 Triple clamps. This is wrote by Alex Ward KX Guru Racing Member.. The Newer KX 500 clamps do not fit well with the 450 forks. Close but too tight. you could bore the K5 clamps a bit to the specs I have listed or hit Alan Cameron up for a really sweet upgrade to your bike.
